For quite some time I have been hesitating to buy a new Gopro camera, and hooray for that! Because now they have a new compact camera out; the HERO 4 Session. It absolutely tiny and it has wifi and easy controls - and it still does 1080p HD in 30 fps. The newest series HERO 4 cameras can film in 3K or 4K or whatever - but who needs that? Many youtube videos with that high definition just look bad anyway, because of poor motives or lacking in capture techniques - or the lack of tasteful color grading. For my purpose just stepping from 720p to 1080p will be a great improvement.
But what is more important to me - is that the small size makes is much better for good-style filming. The big chunky Gopro HERO (1) camera I have been using so far has been a bit too obvious on photographs. I have tried my best to mask it by using the black rubber cover, but it still looks awkwardly modern. And it is actually in the way - it obstructs my looking over the right shoulder, and I often bang it against something in the car.
But now that's over!
