Did the pump formerly give good PSI? Did the motor show cam journal wear? From the picture with the gears in housing it looks like there is significant gap to being flush to gasket surface, perhaps more gap on the new pump? Just questions, no implications for either choice.

We fitted an oil lamp and it would flash at idle after e REAL good thrashing. So we definitely need new pump. We hoped that the internal parts might have been interchangeable ... but the more expensive 101 pump has helical pump gears, and the less expensive 105 pump has straight-cut gears + the pickup tube is cast integral with the pump housing.

Decisions, decisions :-/
